Meet The Coaches

Maka Yacapin is the founder of Outlaw Wrestling, a USA Wrestling chartered club based in University Place, Washington. A 3x 4A WA State Champion, Fargo All-American, Pan-Am Silver Medalist, Maka Yacapin has turned his passion for wrestling into a mission to inspire and mentor the next generation of athletes. Alongside their best friend and partner, Evan Janson, they built Outlaw Wrestling to create a community where young wrestlers can thrive both on and off the mat. Their goal is to grow the sport and positively impact lives through the values of hard work, resilience, and family.

Evan Janson is a head coach at Outlaw Wrestling, and a passionate advocate for the sport. A former wrestler at Arizona Christian University and experienced coach, Evan has been actively involved in shaping young athletes' futures through his work with the UP Vikings Junior Wrestling Club and now Outlaw Wrestling. His dedication to fostering a positive, growth-oriented environment for wrestlers has been a key component in building the club's strong community. Evan is committed to helping athletes achieve their goals and creating passionate wrestlers.

Brendan Healy is an assistant coach at Outlaw Wrestling, known for bringing fire, discipline, and passion to the program. He began wrestling in 8th grade, and through hard work and determination, he became a state placer at the 2019 Mat Classic XXXI. "Brendan was one of my main training partners in high school, and he always came after me, no matter what," says Maka. His relentless work ethic and discipline set him apart both as a competitor and a coach. Previously an assistant coach at UP Vikings Wrestling Club, Brendan is committed to helping athletes reach their full potential with his unmatched energy and dedication.

Davonn Keyes is an assistant coach at Outlaw Wrestling. Davonn is a former collegiate wrestler for Northeastern Junior College, 2018 Mat Classic XXX 3rd Place, 2018 Mat Classic XXX Team State Champion for South Kitsap High School. With a background as a former assistant coach at South Kitsap High School, his passion for wrestling is matched by his willingness to serve others, making him an invaluable mentor to young athletes at Outlaw Wrestling. Davonn’s commitment to helping wrestlers reach their full potential is a cornerstone of his coaching philosophy.
