Under the bright lights of the Tacoma Dome, where dreams are realized and heartbreak is endured, Outlaw Wrestling Club’s high school warriors stepped onto Washington’s grandest stage—Mat Classic XXXVI. From February 20-22, 2025, the Dome became a battlefield of raw emotion, where every match carried the weight of years of sacrifice, sweat, and unrelenting determination. When the dust settled, we crowned 1 State Champion, 1 State Finalist, and 5 State Medalists. But the true story of Dome Weekend isn’t just in the podium finishes—it’s in the electrifying victories, the crushing defeats, the deafening roar of the crowd. This is more than a tournament; it’s the ultimate test of heart and grit. Read on to see how our Outlaws fought through the fire of Mat Classic.


1st Place 4A 113lbs- Aizak "Koa" Fetters (42-3) Freshman, Curtis High School

In one of the most electrifying moments of Mat Classic XXXVI, Curtis High School Freshman, Koa Fetters delivered a stunning comeback to capture the 4A 113-pound state championship. Trailing 4-2 with just 10 seconds remaining, he executed a clutch takedown and secured back points, flipping the script in dramatic fashion to claim victory.


Koa dominated the tournament with a flawless 5-0 record, showcasing his skill and resilience. His path to the title included one pin and a commanding major decision, cementing his place as a state champion for the first time in his high school career.


2nd Place 4A Girls 140lbs- Rubylove Koch (32-4) Junior, Curtis High School

When the stakes were highest, Rubylove rose to the occasion. The Curtis High School junior put on a commanding performance throughout the tournament, storming her way to the finals with four consecutive pins in a combined time of just 3 minutes and 45 seconds. With each match, she showcased relentless pressure, technical precision, and a champion’s mentality.


In the championship bout, she faced a formidable opponent in Kylee Wicklund of Lake Stevens High School. Despite an impressive run to the finals, Rubylove ultimately fell short, finishing as the tournament runner-up. Though the title eluded her this time, her electrifying performance solidified her as one of the top competitors in the state—and one to watch moving forward.


3rd Place 4A 113lbs- Jayden Vo (39-5) Junior, Spanaway Lake High School

Jayden Vo proved to be one of the most dangerous wrestlers at the Mat Classic, steamrolling through his first three opponents with a combined score of 46-1, securing three first-period tech falls. His most impressive victory came in the quarterfinals, where he dominated No. 2 seed Desmond Villanueva of Union High School. Though Vo fell in the semifinals to Sumner’s Hoyt Harshman, he bounced back with a commanding 17-1 win over No. 4 seed Ian Garza of Moses Lake before defeating Villanueva again to claim third place.


Vo had outscored his opponents 71-10, delivering one of the most impressive performances of the tournament, cementing his status as one of the top wrestlers in Washington.


5th Place 4A Girls 105lbs- Azalea Fetters (19-5) Senior, Curtis High School

In her final Tacoma Dome appearance, Curtis High School senior Azalea “Anu” Fetters proved her resilience and determination. After a dominant first-round pin, she fell to #4-ranked Addison Werner but battled back through the consolation bracket, securing four falls and a decision win to claim 5th place. Her 6-2 tournament record, including five pins, showcased her relentless style.


Anu closed out her senior season with a 19-5 record, leaving a lasting impact on Curtis wrestling. Her performance was more than just results—it was a testament to her toughness and competitive spirit.


6th Place 2A 157lbs- Trey Sta Rosa (36-8) Senior, Eatonville High School

In his final Mat Classic appearance, Eatonville senior Trey Sta Rosa fought his way to an impressive 6th-place finish in the 2A 157-pound bracket.


After dropping his opening match, Sta Rosa stormed through the consolation bracket with five straight wins, including three tech falls and a major decision. His run ended in the consolation semis and 5th-place match, securing a hard-earned 6th place in just his second year of wrestling.


A gritty performance to close out a remarkable journey.


7th Place 4A 190lbs- Eli Calderon (42-6) Sophomore, Curtis High School

Curtis High School’s Eli Calderon showcased his talent at Mat Classic XXXVI, earning a 7th-place finish. The sophomore started strong with back-to-back pins before falling to eventual state champion Asa Knutson of Hanford. After a tough loss to 3rd-place finisher Ethan Harvey of Mead, Calderon rebounded with a victory to secure his spot on the podium. His performance marks him as a rising contender for the future.


7th Place 2A 106lbs- Shane Spindel (41-7) Junior, Washington High School

The Junior from Washington High School delivered an impressive performance at Mat Classic XXXVI, securing seventh place with a 5-2 record. Showcasing his offensive dominance, he notched one pin, two technical falls, and a major decision victory, proving his ability to compete among the state’s best. Spindel’s resilience and skill were on full display throughout the tournament, and with another year ahead, he’s poised for an even stronger senior season.


4A 106lbs- Bryce Bittner (31-10) Freshman, Curtis High School

Freshman Bryce Bittner, representing Curtis High School, battled through a tough bracket at Mat Classic XXXVI, finishing with a 2-2 record. Despite not reaching the podium, he showcased his dominance with two commanding major decision victories, proving his potential on the state’s biggest stage. Bittner’s performance sets the foundation for a promising high school career, as he gains valuable experience to build on for future success.


4A 113lbs- Crew Williamson (30-16) Freshman, Curtis High School

Freshman standout Crew Williamson of Curtis High School showcased resilience and determination at Mat Classic XXXVI, closing out his state tournament debut with a hard-fought 3-2 record. Despite falling short of the podium, Williamson secured a dominant major decision victory along the way, proving he can compete at the highest level. His performance sets the foundation for a promising high school career, and with continued growth, he is poised to make a deeper run in the years ahead.


4A 113lbs- Caleb Do (28-17) Senior, Spanaway Lake High School

Senior Caleb Do of Spanaway Lake High School battled through a tough bracket at Mat Classic XXXVI, finishing with a 2-2 record. Despite falling short of the podium, he showcased resilience and determination, securing a dominant major decision victory along the way. While the tournament didn’t end as he had hoped, Caleb’s performance reflected his grit and competitive spirit, capping off a hard-fought season.


3A 106lbs- Alexander Polk (22-16) Freshman, Timberline High School

Freshman Alex Polk of Timberline High School made his Mat Classic XXXVI debut, gaining valuable experience on Washington’s biggest stage. Despite a hard-fought effort, he finished with a 1-2 record and fell short of placing. While the tournament didn't end as he had hoped, Polk showcased resilience and determination, setting the foundation for future success.


4A 126lbs- Kamuela Kalilikane (28-19) Sophomore, Curtis High School

Sophomore Kamuela Kalilikane of Curtis High School faced tough competition at Mat Classic XXXVI, concluding the tournament with a hard-fought 0-2 record. While he did not place, his performance showcased resilience and determination against a deep field of talented wrestlers. With two more years ahead, Kalilikane will undoubtedly use this experience as motivation to refine his skills and return stronger in future seasons.
